Halloween Party

Our church had our Halloween Party last night. Kiera went as a Lady Bug. I got to sew some of it. I have been learning a lot latly. I thought she looked like the cutest lady bug ever...but of course I'm a little bias.

We tried to get her to participate in as many of the activities as we could. She is still kind of young, so she couldn't do them all. She got to visit her aunts and her grandma at some of the booths.

As the night got closer to the end she was getting a little grumpy to, all in all though, I think it was a fun night.

Guess What..!!!

So...the cat is finally out of the bag..I'm pregnant...again! On Kiera's birthday we got a little surprise, and found out that Kiera's going to be a big sister! Who would have guessed that after more than a year of trying...the next time around we would get pregnant without trying...funny world. We are very excited though. Of course we wanted another child, it was just a few 6 - 12 months earlier than we expecting. So my little family of three will be a family of four. I haven't been to the doctor yet, but by my rough calculations I'm due sometime around June 10.

Loves Chocolate

We went to a wedding reception and Kiera found Mommy's plate that had chocolate on it. Below are the pictures that resulted. It was so cute I couldn't help but to just enjoy how cute she was.

First Kiss!

So what do you do when at the age of 1 your daughter is already getting kisses???!!?? No, don't worry, I am totally aware of how innocent it all is, but that doesn't take away my shock the other day. Our library has the reading times for young kids, so yesterday I took Kiera to our first one. It is for 6 months to 23 months. There was a boy in there that was probably a little closer to that 23 months than most...and after they read a story to them, they bring some toys in for the kids to play together with. So the kids are all running around, pulling toys out of the box, and playing as nicely as can be expected. One boy was walking by Kiera and kind of went to push her out of the way, before he could cause much harm though his mother saw him and told him to play nice. So this boy, no idea who he is, goes in and kisses my daughter. He only got her cheek the first time, so then he had to give her another kiss on the lips. It was one of those moments where I thought, HOW CUTE!!! then the thought of HE'S KISSING MY DAUGHTER!! came to mind. As I said, all innocent, but come on, a random boy was kissing her!

Someone's A YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am a little late with this post, but yes, my Baby Girl has turned 1. It was an enjoyable day. We actually celebrated it on Sunday after Conference, since Grandma Mullis was leaving to go help Shaun and Melanie with the new baby. Saturday night we went over to Grandma's house and I got to decorate my first cake.
I thought I did pretty good if I do say so myself. I did enjoy it believe it or not, maybe someday I will be able to do a little bit more with it. Anyway, so Grandma got her plenty of gifts, the main gifts I gave were clothes. Exciting birthday huh? I did get her a CD that goes through her ABC's....hopefully she likes it. Now Grandma on the other hand....got her quite a bit. She got clothes, shoes, and her favorite toy, a new princess ride toy. It makes all sort of noises, everything you press makes some kind sound. I don't know why Grandparents find it so much fun to get loud noisy toys for the Grandchildren. Of course I can't be to mad, sense anything that will occupy her time means I have at least some time to get things done. Later we had the cake. Kiera slowly took a couple of bites, and then stopped eating it as she saw Daddy getting into some Ice Cream!!! At which point she refused to have anymore cake without some of Daddy's Ice Cream. I love this picture of her eating the cake...the look on her face is priceless. She seems so uninterested in it. Then the last pictures are just pictures you have to get on the first birthday. Jason and I with our beautiful daugher and then one with the Grandparents.

Daddy has a birthday

This is just quick post. Jason's birthday was Oct. 1...he is one year away from the big 30....But don't tell him I told you. His big birthday present was a BYU polo shirt that he could wear to work. Then he got his cake from a box...which is completly for him because I prefer my home-made cake my Mom makes...but since I love him...he gets his cake from a box. Here are a few pictures of him and Kiera enjoying the birthday sweets.

Bad Habbits Rubbing Off...

We all know about how impressionable kids are, how they watch our every move. Well, those who know me know that I have a horrible love of Dr. Pepper. I don't drink as much as I use to, I've been trying really hard to cut back. Of course, I've only cut back how MUCH, not how OFTEN. Plus it has only been recently that I've been trying to cut back. So, my daughter has grown up seeing Mommy with a Dr. Pepper in her hand on a daily basis. Not only her Mommy, but Grandpa, her aunts, even family friends. I usually guard my Dr. Pepper, mainly for the reason that I will not let her have any anytime soon. Just because I have a desire to drink it doesn't mean that my daughter has too, plus she is still to young to be drinking any kind of soda. I also have to watch for the mess that could be made. Well the other day I took out a can of Dr. Pepper during her nap time and didn't get a chance to open it before she got up. So I got her out of bed changed her diaper and brought her out to the family room. She quickly went for the can, and since it wasn't open I let her play with it. She started acting like she was drinking it. Below are the pictures I took of my little girl. I love the picture with the grin, she was so proud of herself.

Since I'm talking about bad habbits though, I want to make sure everyone knows that I'm not the only one teaching my child things. Daddy likes his Ice Cream...daily. Every time he goes to get his Ice Cream, Kiera is right there waiting to have her share. As long as he doesn't give her much, I'm usually okay with a couple of SMALL bites. The worst is when he decides to come in to kitchen, in the morning, while I'm cooking breakfast!!! Of course, she is right there waiting for her share...This is where I have to put my foot down, no Ice Cream in the morning, this to me is totally a afternoon, night time snack. The way I was raised it was also a special occasion thing to though. I'm currently trying to figure out how best to put a stop to the everyday Ice Cream as well though, since this not a habbit I want to encourage.

First Trip to the Park

So I have been dedicated to going on a daily walk everday for about two months now. (Go me, right :0) ) Well, walking the same path every day gets really boring, so I've started to try different paths. Well on one of these walks we found a park. This was really cool considering that the other parks I know about are not within walking distance. So I took Kiera and she got her first Swing ride. She also enjoyed walking around and the equipment. I even helped her slide down one of the slide a couple of times. Of course there were bugs all over it. I'm going to assume it was due to the time of year, so we will give it a try come spring again. Kiera didn't mind, but it bugged me. I HATE bugs. I didn't use to so much, but lately I seem to be bothered by them even more so that usual. She seemed to enjoy the experience and we look forward to many more trips to the park!

This is a picture of Kiera in the stroller. For some strange reason she like so to ride with cover in front of her so she can look back at me. I would think it would be better to see the view, but what do I know I guess.

BYU Games

BYU game night is a big thing around here. There are a few of us that are BYU fans, so come kick-off we are all gathered around my Dad's big screen to watch the game. The Mullis's, the Payne's, and the Thompsons. We always have so much fun. Chris makes his wife come with thier new baby boy, Cordon, because it is his new good luck charm. This night though Chris was nice and let Jannie stay at home and get some rest, so she got to avoid the pictures. My dad took advantage of having a baby around though and got to hold the cute little guy.

Sunglasses anyone?

Well, it has been awhile since I posted anything interesting, so I will start with where I left off. I want to post some videos, but I have to get them to work on my computer first, so those post will be coming soon.

So, the other day Kiera found my sunglasses. She likes to get into anything that isn't hers, her things aren't nearly as interesting. She looked so cute wearing my sunglasses I just had to take some pictures.

She actually wasn't very good at getting the glasses on, so I had to help. She kept on trying though. I think it is amazing how they watch our daily actions and then try to copy our actions. Its just like when I get on the computer and she comes over and tries to "type" as well. Of course I don't know how much of that is because she wants to do what Mommy is doing or how much is because she doesn't like the fact that I'm spending her precious time doing it. Of course that is why I do what I can while she is sleeping , like right now. Of course it's not just me she likes to bug. When Daddy gets on the computer when he comes home, she likes to bug home. On this special night we were trying to keep her happy by giving her one of Daddy's extra mouse's, of course instead she wanted both of them.
