5 Wonderful Years!

On August 6 we celebrated our 5 year anniversary.  There are times that I can't believe its been five years, and others that I can't believe its only been 5 years.  I look at what we have been through..a short stay in Rexburg, a move to Jasper, a move to a house in Jasper, a child, another child, and then another move to Utah this time. That's only some of the big things.

Then there is my handsome husband.  He is still my best friend, my everything.  I'm so fortunate to have found somebody that is willing to put up with all my imperfections.  He lets me rant and rave and then he is there to help me calm down and see things differently.  He makes me laugh and brings out the playful side of me. He is hard working and provides.  He plays with the kids and makes them laugh. They love him so much, it is always an event when Daddy comes home.  Everyone is excited and races toward the door. The kids can't let him just play with one either, if they hear playing going on whichever one isn't around is quickly joining the fun.

To celebrate the 5 year mark, Jason took me away from kids and responsibility to Las Vegas.  We had a wonderful time. We left Sunday morning and was in Vegas by dinner time. We stayed at the Signature by MGM.  It was a nice hotel, and was technically off the strip but was connected to the MGM by moving walkways, all in side.  We even got the benefits of the MGM pool area:

The first night we walked the strip, we made it about to Caesars Palace and then turned around and found a Cold Stone in the Excalibur hotel.  The next day we lazed about, played some games in our hotel, checked out the pool, and tried our luck at gambling for a little while. I know, horrible, we just felt like it was part of the experience.  We determined how much we were willing to spend on that entertainment and kept to it.  Luck was not on our side, so we went through our gambling entertainment money for the most part on Monday. We did finally find a game that we could play that we figured out how to at least break even.  We even made back a small amount of money.  It was deal or no deal, it was a lot of fun to play.  Monday night we ran into some Timeshare people who talked us into sitting through their sales pitch in return we got a free show.  We went to Tournament of Kings - free dinner and a show.  Tuesday morning was the sales pitch, took longer than we had hoped, but we enjoyed the show that evening.

Pictures weren't allowed during the performance, but we were France and our Knight did pretty well. He had one of the best sword fights.

After the show we walked the strip again and took in some of the shows that the strip has to offer.

The white towers behind the MGM is where we stayed

The Venetian, isn't it cool looking

The Volcano
The Sirens at TI...interesting show. A little corny, but had some cool special affects

Wednesday it was get up and get ready to go.  We enjoyed a lazy morning, got in the car and headed home.  We enjoyed  a Texas Roadhouse dinner, and then came home to our kids.  I had missed them so much, I was just happy to hold them again.  We took the kids swimming and then it was bed time.  We played games with Jason' parents who were nice enough to take the kids for us, and then it was all over and back to the grind.  It was a great few days and a wonderful experience for me and Jason just to enjoy one another again. I truly love him so much!

Visitors from Maryland

We got back from our family activities and we quickly got ready for visitors.  My old roommate from college came out here with her family. Her name is Sommer and her husband is Ben.  They have two beautiful boys, Brandon and Nathan and are expecting another one. They got here on a Saturday. Sommer and I went to dinner with the rest of our college buddies that could make it.  It was great being able to be together again and talk about the good ol' days.  We laughed and had fun reliving old times and catching up.  Then Sommer and I went home to our husbands and kids. We put the kids to sleep and then stayed up playing games and having a grand ol time.  We also got to spend all day Sunday and Monday with them.  Monday we ended up at her pool.  Here are some pictures of everyone playing in the pool.  The stayed with us the rest of the week but we were only able to spend the evenings with them because they were there for a family reunion.  We still took advantage of having them there though and enjoyed some games when they got back from their family activities.  It was so great to have friends around.  It is always so great when you have those friends that no matter how often you talk to each other, when you get to see each other it feels like time hasn't passed. Well here are the pictures.

Mullis Family pictures

While my whole family was together for the first time in like 3 1/2 years we took some family pictures.  We were even able to get Jodi in the pictures since her and Jason will be married in November.  We had a few different type of pictures taken here are a few.

Ice Cream Lover

With my husband being the way he is and even me to a point, there is no way that my kids make it very long without knowing the sweet taste of ice cream.  Here are some pictures we took of Rylan at a Diary Queen in the Boise area. He loves his Ice Cream!

Fishing

I'm so far behind when it comes to posting, so I'm going to try to catch up here as much as possible.  Here goes nothing.  So after the Jensen family reunion activities Jason and I left for the mountains to meet up with Jason's family and our children.  By the time we got there the kids were a mess as you they should be while playing in the mountains.  I heard that Kiera had figured out how to go through 2 or 3 different outfits, but they both looked liked they had been enjoying themselves.

When we got there Jason quickly tried to make up for lost time and started fishing.  He was able to catch a fish pretty quickly with Kiera helping him, after that the fish catching slowed down and I wasn't able to even catch one. :-(  Here are some pictures of our time fishing!
