Birthday Parties

We first got to celebrate Rylan's birthday with the Payne side of the family, his grandparents made him a cake and got some presents.  He enjoyed the cake a lot.  He has enjoyed some of the presents as well, but it is hard when your bigger sister continues to take them away....

Then the next Sunday we celebrated Rylan's birthday with the Mullis side of the family.  My cousins Jeff and Marianne came up with their spouses and dinner and stuck around for cake.  It was nice to see them though I didn't get to talk to them much until dinner.  Before dinner I was busy with this:

Rylan enjoyed the cake, but liked the ice cream more I think. It was a great day and we are so happy for our little boy and the enjoyment he brings to our lives.

Rylan Turns One!

So on June 4th Rylan turned one.  At such a moment you can't help but think about everything that has happened in the last year.  We moved from our home in Jasper to Utah, lived with my parents for a while, finally got to move into our own place, my little brother came home, Jason's brother had a kid, another one of his brothers graduated, Jason's sister moved in with us....so much and that's not even to do with Rylan.

It was a long day on the June 3rd 2009 when finally my little baby boy decided to arrive early June 4th.  He was everything a mother could ask for, healthy, cute, and mine.  We found out really quick that this time around was going to be a little different that the first. Rylan cried a lot more than she ever did, took a long time to decide to sleep through the night (and still wakes up earlier than Kiera did at his age), wouldn't take a bottle, and was a mommy's boy. But as with all babies Rylan's personality has come up and we wouldn't have him any other way.  He has a smile to melt your heart and a laugh that is infectious.  He loves his sister and follows her around when she is playing.  At times I can look behind me while I'm driving and I will see them holding hands, you have got to love the bond between siblings. Rylan loves his balls, He will grab any ball that he finds and carry them all over the place.  We have started a game where Daddy passes the ball to me and then Rylan comes and gets it from me.  He then takes it back to Daddy and passes it back to me.  Rylan loves it.  Well here are some pictures throughout the year of my little baby boy!

Memorial Day Weekend with the Paynes

So for Memorial Day Weekend we all went up to Boise to spend some time with Jason's family.  We had a blast.  We got there late Thursday night and was exhasted so went pretty much straight to sleep.  Friday morning I got to go on my first golf outing.  Jason, his Dad, Ty ( his brother), Courtney (Ty's girlfriend), and myself all did 9 holes.  We played a scramble and for those who don't know that means you play in teams. Everyone hits the ball, but then you play off the best ball, and then everyone hits from that location and so on.  It was Jason, his Dad, and me against Ty and Courtney.   I hit a couple decent hits that we used, also hit a lot of bad balls, but I'm learning. :-)  In the end we beat Ty and Courtney by one.  It was a good game.  The rest of the day we kind of just enjoyed ourselves and we went to see Great Grandma Payne.  She enjoyed seeing the kids I think.

Kiera and Rylan really enjoyed hanging out with their grandparents.  They have a nice front porch with a nice sized front lawn.  We would sit out on the porch talking and let the kids run around, they loved it.  Kiera found that Grandma and Grandpa had bubbles laying around and spent the weekend making sure they didn't have any left.  I didn't get any pictures of those, but I did get some pictures of them playing inside with the giant frog.  Rylan was playing with his Daddy first...

Then Kiera had to come and interrupt and take over...

This is what resulted...

Saturday we took the kids to the park, they always enjoy that.  There were slides and swings, and tunnels oh my.
Saturday night Jason and I got to go on  a date, he took me putt putting and the rest of the family went bowling.  Kiera even got to bowl, I heard she had a blast, but again, sorry no pictures.  Sunday we enjoyed another quiet day with family and games and birthday cake....I leave the birthday cake for another post soon to come.

Kiera

She did this to herself and she wouldn't let us take the net off. She does some of the funniest things sometimes.
