Christmas at the Mullis House!

Sunday before Christmas my Mom decided it was time to decorate the tree. So my kids got the chance to decorate another tree. They enjoyed my mom's tree just as much...specially since it was taller.

 For Christmas this year Jason's family came to our house, so my family decided to celebrate with us on the Tuesday before.  During the day I went over with the kids to to Gingerbread Houses.  My two youngest sisters had friends over and we all got in a decorated.  Kiera got into it for about a second.  Then she was off doing something more entertaining.

After gingerbread houses Mom and I started dinner and clean up while the rest of the girls and my kids went out into the snow.  My sisters decided to make a snowman that was taller than they were. It was like 8 ft tall, no joke.  That had to have Jason and Eric lift the second piece cause they couldn't do it by themselves.   Here are my little ones all bundled up.

After gingerbread houses, snowman, and dinner, we gathered round for the opening of presents.  While we waited, Kiera and Rylan decided to play.

Then it was time to open presents...Kiera's first...

First present: a tin full of princess books and coloring books with markers and a cd.

Then she got mittens with a beenie. She also got a dress.

Rylan also got a good Christmas...

Clothes...he got a couple different outfits. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!



Then came the big presents. Rylan got a rocking horse the moves and makes noises.

So we had Kiera get on to show him it was okay.

 Then Kiera got her present.  Grandma and Grandpa got her a kitchen. It is REALLY neat and Kiera was way excited about it.

 Jason and I also had a good Christmas.  We got an I Pod touch, some books, a Christmas cookbook, and Jason got a gift card to golf.  Not to bad if I do say so myself.  We all had a great time.  After we were done opening presents the kids went home and to bed with their Grandma and Grandpa Payne and we got to stay up and play games.  More on the rest of the week and Christmas day soon!

Decorating the tree

Due to the busy schedules of Jason's and my brother's wedding, we didn't get a Christmas Tree till two weeks before Christmas.  Needless to say, I am excited for next year when Jason is NOT in school and we get into the Christmas a lot quicker.  It is fun having the house all decorated and making it special for the kids.  This year both kids really got into helping decorate the tree...unfortunately they also had fun undecorating the tree.  At one point Rylan even decided that it would be fun to play drums.  It consisted of using a screw driver as a drum stick and one of the ornaments as the drum...you can imagine how this worked out.  I was just coming out of the bathroom and was two seconds too late to stop  it from happening.  Such is life though right?  It only took about two days until the bottom half of the Christmas tree was empty.  We love having kids!

Happy Halloween!

Well another Halloween has come and gone.  It was a great weekend.  Jason and Jodi flew in from Arizona to take care of some wedding details and see their new nephew (Jodi's sister had a baby).  We got to spend Friday night with them. We carved pumpkins and played games while Mandy had a party downstairs. Jason and Jodi even let us help test cakes for the wedding with them. It was a lot of fun to see them again. Saturday we celebrated Halloween and got all dressed up.  There was a trunk or treat at our church, unfortunately it was raining so they moved it all inside. The church was packed, but the kids didn't mind, they still got their candy.  We then ate dinner and then went up to my Mom and Dad's place to trick or treat.  The kids had a lot of fun. Kiera went as a witch and Rylan was a Tiger.

Here are some pictures of them in the car after the trunk or treat on our way to get dinner.  Rylan was already getting into his chocolate and Kiera was tired of Mom taking pictures...then again she fell asleep in the car...so I think she was just tired period.

Then it was up to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We took some pictures then headed home where we stopped by Smith's to get ice cream and a movie. The kids and I were bored so I started to take some more pictures...maybe I was a little crazy with the picture taking. :0)
