So Thursday night I was downstairs watching Vampire Dairies with my sister and Jason was in charge of the kids. About 8 he comes down and informs me that I need to come here. So I get upstairs and I discover that Rylan is bleeding in the back of his head. Jason was playing with the kids in our bedroom on the bed and Rylan fell off the bed. He hit our night stand and ended up with a gash about 1/2 an inch long. So we got to go to the hospital and Rylan got to get three staples in the back of his head. He only needed two, but he ended up getting three due to the staple gun having a malfunction. He is doing well, in fact just before we went to the hospital he was climbing up on furniture again. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with this little boy. He is keeping us on our toes.

A New Year!
Well, 2011 has started and with it has come.....school again, colds, and cleaning. We have enjoyed this first month but we have been pretty busy. We had to recoup from the holidays and I have been working hard to catch up the house cleaning. I think I'm starting to get back to normal, finally. We switched the rooms around a couple of weeks ago which didn't help with getting everything cleaned, but it has worked out great in other aspects. Kiera was really starting to get scared a lot at night, she would even go into Rylan's room and climb into bed with him. So we decided that it was time to move them in together. Kiera has really enjoyed having her brother in the room with her. Rylan's old room has become the play room....which is nice to have 3/4 of the toys all in one room.
Jason has started his classes again. The last two classes and then he will have his MBA. I have no idea what life will be like once he is out, but boy do I look forward to it. So we just look forward to May! He is doing good though, working hard.
The last couple of weeks have resulted in us having colds, me the worst. Bad coughs, runny noses, stuffy noises......I even had some aches and pains. A couple days there I was really touch and go. But we are starting to feel better. Hopefully we all will be better soon.
Last week I also got to go to two plays. The first was down at UVU, my brother Ryan was in the play Oklahoma! He did really good job. He was one of the "farmers" He didn't have a big part, but he was up there singing and dancing with the best of them. Then the next night I saw Kristyn in her school play. The did A Midsummer's Night Dream and Kris was the Queen. She also did a really good job. I always enjoy going to a good play.
Other than that, the kids continue to do an awesome job at keeping me busy. Kiera is getting closer to being potty trained, but just hasn't decided it is really what she wants. When she wants to, she does great, but for the most part it isn't worth the time or the effort for her. She has really gotten into her barbies and princess. If I'm not hearing about going to Grandma's to play barbies, then it is to watch one of the new princess movies she got for Christmas. She loves to go to the 'book store' which is the shelf in her bedroom, or the 'shoe store' which is mom's closet. She also loves her bubble baths and will spend hours in the bath tub playing. Both her and Rylan love to play in water.
Rylan is also doing good. His talking is starting to come along, though not as much as I would like. As soon as this cold dries up we are going to take him to a specialist. We want to make sure his hearing is good to make sure that isn't the problem since ear problems come from both sides of his family. He has had just enough ear infections and colds to be worried about it. He is a Chocolate Lover like his Dad and keeps us on our toes making sure it is all put up out of his reach. If he can find it, he will get to it, and he will eat it. He loves to follow his sister around and do everything she is doing. He loves balls and cars, and is pretty much my true blue boy. I love watching him grow, but everyone once in awhile and I get a tear as I realize that my baby isn't a baby any more. He is a toddler through and through.
Here are some pictures of the kids and me.

Christmas 2010...the rest of it
So Jason's family came in the Tuesday before Christmas and stayed till Sunday. We all had a blast spending time together, staying up late, and working on special projects. Jason and I spent Wed. afternoon looking for a special present. We found out on Monday that Jason was going to get a bonus that we weren't expecting, so as a reward we let Jason get his 46 in LCD for the basement. We are all very happy with our new T.V. it just kind of took a lot of time Wed and Thursday. Since we didn't just replace the T.V. we also took apart our entertainment center that was on its last leg and put shelves up around the T.V. I think it turned out pretty nice. I know Jason was happy to have his Dad around to help out.
Friday was Christmas Eve and we all decided to open presents. Jason's family has a tradition of opening presents early, so we did...though Santa still came that night and we had Christmas morning. Here are the pictures from the Christmas Eve festivities:

We were passing out presents and at first Kiera only had the one while everybody else got ton's. She wasn't so sure about this Christmas thing at that point.
She ended up with plenty though. At one point Rylan started to steal Lyhia's presents and give them to his sister. What a good brother! Though we had teach him that wasn't how it worked.
It didn't bother him much. Once he got a chance to start opening presents he was off.
Over all I think the kids really enjoyed their Christmas. By the time you add the gifts together from Grandparents and parents...the kids did good for themselves. Now Mommy just has to figure out how to organize it all. :0) That night we stayed up and played games until late into the night...like 2:00 in the morning. We were all tired the next day..but that's part of Christmas break right?
Then Christmas morning! I will say that I was happy that our kids actually slept in a little bit. We were still up by 7:30 - 8:00 or so, but hey that's late for Christmas morning! Though Kiera was excited for Santa Claus to come, I don't think she completely understood what was going on that morning.

There's Candy in HERE!!
Mmmm Candy
I love when the kids can play together nicely.
This is their new Pirate Ship...come summer there will be water to play with in it!
The kids had a lot of fun with their new toys. Kiera got a Toy Story chair, a Minnie Mouse, and a bike. Rylan got a Toy Story chair, a Mickey Mouse, and a Race Ramp. The Pirate Ship was a family gift along with some Disney movies, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Lion King. It was a great Christmas morning! Then Rylan found the candy in the stocking. I know I talk about him and his candy a lot, but trust there is a reason. The little guy is obsessed with it. He would take some from his father, leave and it eat it, then come right back for me. It was hilarious. I swear he can smell it. When we got over to my Mother's house he can find it within ten min. Its crazy!
Later that day while the kids played with their new toys this is what we were doing....
That is Jason leaning out of the picture, darn husband.
Rylan enjoyed Kiera's new toy from Grandma Mullis, though not the way you would hope....
I love these pictures, he is SO CUTE!
Later that day we went to Temple Square to see the lights. Jason's parents had never been. Boy was it slow on Christmas Night. It made it really easy to enjoy the lights...except for the fact that it was cold and the kids were tired :0) But it was beautiful as always.....I didn't get a lot of pictures but feel free to see my last years post if you want. It wasn't very different.
Then when we got back we watched a movie and stayed up waiting for Jason's brother to get home from work at 2:00. Then played a game of Five Crowns and went to bed...around 4 in the morning! It had been a long time since I've done that one. It was a great week though of family fun. The next day everybody got up and had to get ready to go. It was great spending Christmas with the Paynes!
