Oct 8, 2010 - Kiera's Bday!

So I can't believe I've had Kiera in my life for 3 full years now. She is so much fun, she is just amazing.  I'm so blessed to have her. I can't believe how much she has grown!  Look at her in her first weeks!

And now look at her!

Some of the cute things she says to me: I give her lunch or a snack, and I get, "Mom your the best!"  Something else she does sometimes is we are just sitting around, watching tv or something and suddenly she'll say "I'm your princess" or something along those lines.  She has suddenly gotten a lot more into playing dress up and pincess's.  She still loves Mickey Mouse and her Baby dolls, but now we can add barbie dolls and her fisher price dolls that she got for her birthday.  She loves her little brother and the other day was informing me that he was her "honey."

For her birthday Jason took the day off which was really nice.  We got some shopping done, where we bought Kiera some new clothes and then went to McDonalds for lunch at the birthday girls request.  After naps we decided to take Kiera up to the mountains. She continues to ask about fishing and camping.  We didn't do either but we were hopping it would satisfy her.  Here are the pictures we took up there.

She really does know to pose for the camera when she wants to

After that we hooked up with Jason's brother Dustin and his wife Rena. They got her a back full of gifts that included a Happy Birthday balloon that she loved, sunglasses, a tutu, fairy wings, and a candy necklace.  You can see the candy necklace in this picture.

We all went out to Cafe Rio for dinner and then back to our place for presents and cake.  Kiera loved her birthday presents, at first I think she was a little dissapointed, there wasn't very many presents to wrap.

Then Mommy brought out the big gift. It was a doll house with a lot of little dollhouse pieces.  She loved it and started playing with it right away.  The next morning when she came to wake us up she even brought the tub full of pieces into our bedroom with her.

Kiera's 3rd Birthday, Party 1

So we celebrated Kiera's birthday with my family week early.  My dad was going out of town so we wanted to celebrate when he could be part of it.  We wanted as many people to be apart of it as possible.  So Thursday I went up to my Mom's and started to make the cake.  We wanted to do a butterfly cake and didn't have a plan. My mom had a cool book that showed how we could take a 9x13 and make it a butterfly.

I thought it turned out pretty good. It's amazing what you can do with a 9x13 cake when you know what your doing.  Anyway, tacos was on the menu because that is what Kiera asked for.  We only let her open her presents from Grandma and Grandpa since on her birthday we were going to have another party.  Here are the presents from Grandma and Grandpa.

Something her Aunt Mandi taught her. Oh Yeah!

And Kristyn...

This is what kept Rylan happy while Kiera was opening presents

Kiera got the skirt, a jacket, a leap frog laptop, and a the gift below.  It's a little projector.  There are different disks that have pictures of princess, fairies, and other fun girly things.

Grandma and Kari enjoyed helping Kiera get into her gifts

An update

I know it has been forever since I have written anything, life has just been busy I guess.  Early September Jason's brother came and lived with us for two weeks.  He was starting a new job here in Utah and needed a place to stay till he could get moved into his own place.  The first week I got to take care of his daughter, my niece, Lyhia.  She didn't know me very well, so it was kind of a long week, but good.  The kids all loved being together.  If it wasn't quite so crazy maybe I would have gotten some cute pictures of them playing together. The next week Lyhia was able to spend time with Mommy and that weekend Jason went up to Idaho Falls to help them pack up and move.  Between that and school he has been really busy.  I have been trying to keep my house up and get ready for birthdays.  Jason turned 31 on the first and had two test to take that weekend. So I went to Idaho Falls to see my cousin with the kids so that Jason could study.  Since I was going to be gone ON his birthday the weekend before I took him to Texas Roadhouse and a movie.  We had a great time and then on Sat. we were able to go to the BYU game.  It was fun, even though we lost again. Just isn't going to be our year.

Anyway, that is only some of what has been going on.  I have taken pictures though, so here are some pictures of the children.  We are still working with Kiera on potty training her, she just doesn't seem to want to.  Evey few days we spend time on the potty while drinking tons of juice.  But once we put the underwear on of diaper, she just goes in the diaper or underwear.  I ask her if she needs to go, she says no and then 10 min later she's wet.  She gets excited for the idea of it, loves her panties, but just can't or won't communicate when she needs to pee or go on her own.  Hopefully we make a break through soon.  Other than that she is doing great!  She keeps us all on our toes.  Rylan is also doing pretty good. He really has gotten into the climbing thing.  He will try to imitate sounds like Meow or Roar.  He even has 'words' that he says, though I'm not sure how many 'real' words he has in his vocab.  We continue to work with him.  Him and Kiera continue to have a power struggle.  I've already have seen some of the tendencies of Rylan believing he deserves everything he wants, I try really hard to make sure I'm punishing the right kid and the kid that the toy first is getting it.  I know I don't always get it right though.  Well, here are some pictures.  They both love the camera.  I was trying to get a picture of them together, but they have problems sometimes sharing the spotlight :-)

Here is one of the times I was trying to get both of them.

Here Rylan stole my Ipod and then cuddled up with his Daddy!
It was so cute!

I was trying to get a cute picture of Kiera, but she kept looking over at the TV instead.

Kiera was put into time out and was really upset. Rylan went over and hugged her to help comfort her. It was one of the cutest things I've seen.  I love it when they have those sweet sibling moments.
