Christmas...Finally

Sorry all, I am late in posting for Christmas....So, here are the pictures of Christmas. We had a lot of fun, Jason, my brother came in for Christmas. So we had the whole family minus Ryan and Shaun and Melanie and family. We were happy to have those that we could get, next Christmas we can be a whole family!

Christmas Eve was crazy, we were waiting for Jason to arrive before we had Christmas dinner, so we didn't end up eating till like 8:00 or something like that. So after dinner we quickly put Kiera down for bed while we did the rest of the Christmas Eve festivities. She got to sleep at Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas Eve. The next morning we all slept in believe it or not. I think we ended up all getting up and over to my parents house at like 8:30 or something..Kiera even slept in! The girls all got to come down and see what Santa brought them. When we took Kiera in she got destracted by Aunt Kristyn's new drum set. That was probably her favorite gift....I must say Mommy was kinda of happy it wasn't hers.

She has enjoyed the gifts we got her though. We got this little piano for her that she loves to play once in a while. She loves music! We also got her some duplos and one of those shape sorters. She loves to dump the duplos out and sometimes she puts them back in the bucket. The shape sorter we play with together...she needs help to figure it out still, but I figure you got to start somewhere, and she does enjoy it. Specially when she gets the right shape and it goes through and we clap. She also got a baby doll from Grandma Mullis that she has really enjoyed. The rest of the gifts were all things we needed..like clothes. We got some very cute outfits from Grandma and Grandpa Payne. Thank you to all who gave her gifts, there were all very cute and much needed.

For the most part Kiera enjoyed her Christmas, but her morning did start off kind of rough. In my famly we have everyone open one gift at a time. Kiera would open her present then leave to go play in her little house on the opposite side of the room. Well just about everytime she would fall or trip over the gifts on the floor. Then when we were done with presents she slipped on the kitchen floor. Daddy was comforting her and went to get his cinammon roll out of the microwave. Well, the icing was really hot. In the amount of time it took Jason to get the cinammon roll from the microwave to the counter Kiera some how slapped the cinammon roll. She burned her little finger pretty bad. This picture was a couple of days after. Fortunatly we are now past it and her finger is back to normal. She was amazing with it though, I had to wrap it there are the beginning with some gauze and everytime I had to put a new one on she just sat there and let me do it. She never fought or anything. Amazing child I tell you.

Well I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Oh Christmas Tree

For a family activity with Eric returning home, we all went to a tree farm and got our Christmas Tree. It was a fun experience. It was cold, but Kiera was having the time of her life. She loved being outside and running around. She never cried or anything and we were out in the cold for awhile. Notice our cute little Christmas Tree...we decided to go short this year since we were only going to be home like 2 weeks before Christmas, and then we end up spending so much of it over at me parents home. But we wanted a Christmas tree in the house still, Christmas just isn't Christmas without the Christmas Tree.

We tried to get Kiera to help decorate the tree...she was more interested in taking the ornaments off the tree though. So defeating....The tree looks quite interesting now..all the ornaments that she could reach are off, so we only have a half decorated tree. :0)

Elder Mullis Returns Home

So...the beginning of December I had the wonderful opportunity to go and take care of my three little sisters for a week and a half. It was a memorable experience. We had fun for the most part, but just let me say I was happy to become just a big sister again. The reason for all this.....my parents went to Uruguay to pick my brother Eric up from his mission. Here was part of the scene when he got home....

So, you may ask what was one of the first things Eric enjoyed upon coming home. He quickly discovered the Blue Bell Ice Cream in the freezer. He was so excited...he had to have some. He grabbed a spoon and started to eat. I wish I would have gotten the first bite on camera, but here are the pictures I did get.

We are so happy to have Eric home. We have been able to enjoy hanging out with him so much. We have watched the Dark Night, played Ticket to Ride, and enjoyed just talking and catching up. Kiera is still warming up to him. She will play with him and every once in a while she'll go to him. Eric is not happy about this, we have to continue to inform him that she does love him, you just have to give her time to get to know you.
